Toddler development and communication stimuli (12+ months)

Your little one is now perfecting the coordination of its movements. They stand, crawl very fast while they make their first attempts to stand, supported by the chair, the table or dad’s leg …soon they will be able to walk. Give them toys that they can use for support, help them stand on their feet and encourage them to come to where you are …stand at close distance and open your arms to entice them to come near you … Who could resist the sweet and warm embrace of mummy?

They have also developed significant capacity to perceive and react to stimuli. Give them toys and show them how to put them into boxes, give them papers to scribble on, to crumple, to tear, talk to them and help them repeat what you say… at this age, they love imitating adults and trying to do what you do.
